 ABOUT OUR COLORS

7day7Colors Art Retreat is a space for global artists to come share, create and heal through colors their artistic offerings that can inspire the world.

This project is creating a cross-cultural exchange with different races and nationalities. We are documenting our renaissance on a new perspective that connects multi-disciplinary visions of people and places.

Our first 7days7colors art retreat is from 17th to 23rd december of 2017, at "Casa NZambi", in Essaouira, Morocco.

This ancient port of Essaouira breathes art, colors and the therapeutic sounds of Gnawa Music. We are inspired by the spiritual experience of nature, sounds and colors to dialogue with dances, audio-visual, traditions, therapies, performances, tastes, memories, visions and dreams that are manifesting our realities.

I'm SunRu, an african artist raised in America from Ghana. During my  journey back to Ghana, that started 2 years ago, I was called here in Essaouira to study the Gnawa and the healing of the colors and sounds.

I'm Maria, an artist born in Minas Gerais, Brazil. Inspired by native and afro-brazilian cultures, and their traditions I'm traveling to study and create music and movements . I came to Morocco first time in 2010, and the Gnawa guided me to Essaouira.

We met here this year, and the idea of 7days7colors as a form of therapy came from our connection  with music, sound-therapy, yoga, capoeira angola, fashion, dance...

This project came to us to create possibilities of sharing our art in a sustainable way globally, expanding  it to continue our journeys of sharing with the world, creating a cross cultural exchange to assist our human evolution and make our roots stronger for a positive transformation.

Through many sessions on the beach,  drumming on acoustic streets, making videos, dancing, learning berimbau and gimbre, tasting different spices, practicing Yoga and Flochi (a fusion of style developed by Sunru combining movement ,breath and sound),enjoying the nature and colors that we find around, listening to Moroccan/world music that people play everywhere - this town has been our school and place to share everyday.

Welcome to  the process of COLORization of the reality, the inverse process of the wars of colonization...

Welcome to the sound of freedom that creates peace.
